Direct supervision of QA Staff in Durham location. Implement authorized quality control standards for: incoming raw materials, parts work in process, end items and finished good. Coordinate the activities to establish corrective actions for discrepant materials and other processes. Ensure that government contracts are followed through the quality standards required. Instruct inspection personnel in the use of required inspection instruments. Calibrate and check instruments for accuracy. Maintain a thorough documentation system as set forth by federal and commercial product standards. Evaluate all raw materials and finished goods in line with quality control standards and monitor all manufacturing processes through physical evaluation or review of quality records. Ensures that federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed by establishing and promoting the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment for Durham operations Qualifications: Must be able to communicate effectively with management team, co-workers and employees. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor Degree in related field preferred; or the equivalent of college and direct work experience in an industrial quality and/or safety area. Demonstrated knowledge of management and manufacturing systems to include ISO compliance. Two years supervisory experience. Accepting of additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Director. Two years in a quality assurance role or related function.
